Focus on Relaxation

Many of us spend a lot of time working out at the gym and preparing healthy food to keep our bodies healthy, without ever thinking about the fact that we also need plenty of relaxation if we are to be as well as we can possibly be. It’s time to right that wrong by taking more time for relaxation, which is important not only for the body, but also for the mind.

Not sure how to relax effectively? Here are some ideas you might enjoy:

Make Time for Tea

Taking a few minutes to simply sit back and sip a cup of soothing green tea is a great way to get your relaxation on and boost your wellness. Why green tea? Not only is it very refreshing, but it also contains L-Theanine, which is a chemical known to lower stress responses in the body.

Meditate

Meditation is one of the most effective forms of relaxation there is – something that Hindu and Buddhist monks have known for thousands of years. If you’ve never meditated before, there are numerous apps, like www.headspace.com, out there that will teach you how. Just 20 minutes of silent meditation a day will refresh your mind and help you conquer the stresses and strains of modern life with more ease.

Massage

If it’s full-body and mind relaxation that you’re looking for, you might want to book yourself a soothing massage over at www.daocloud.com. Not only will it help to soothe the tension in your body, but the peace of mind you’ll experience will really set you up for the day too.

Tense Your Muscles

Another very good relaxation technique that has been used successfully for many years is the practice of tensing each part of your body for a few seconds before releasing them. It sounds a bit strange, but it feels really good probably because it helps to release a lot of tension in the body.

Give Acupressure a Go

Acupressure has the ability, according to some studies, to alleviate anxiety. It works by stimulating the body’s natural healing process, and unlike acupuncture, you can practice it on yourself. Even just a few seconds of acupressure can be effective when your body is feeling stressed out.

Do Nothing

Sometimes the body is so stressed out that just doing nothing is the best way to relax. Kick off your shoes, maybe put on some comfy pajamas, snuggle up with a blanket and just BE for a while. It’s amazing how good this can feel.

Wash Your Face

Washing your face, hands and pulse points with cool refreshing water has an amazing effect, which is both soothing and energy-giving at the same time. If you’re feeling particularly stressed or anxious, it provides a quick sharp shock that can pull you out of it. Some hardcore individuals even tale regular cold showers to harness the power or water. Are you brave enough to give it a try?

Giving yourself time to relax is vital and hopefully, I’ve given you some good ideas to help you relax more fully in the future.
