Here’s How Your Job Is Harming Your Health

If you work very long hours, then you will know what a detrimental impact this can have on your lifestyle. If you are not careful however you may even find that it affects your health too, and this is the last thing that you need when there is enough going on in your life right now.

The Air Conditioning

A lot of offices use air conditioning, and this is great, but if it is not cleaned out on a regular basis then you may find that dust and bacteria builds up in the vent. When the air conditioning is turned back on, it circulates this bacteria around the whole office. This can make you more prone to illness and it can also affect allergies too. Having the air conditioning on too cold can also affect your immune system, so make sure that you set it accordingly so that you are always comfortable.

Job Security

Job security is rare in this day and age because more and more people are flocking to start-ups or even freelance gigs. If your job isn’t secure then this can put you at a higher risk of developing coronary heart disease, due to the constant stress. If you are having a hard time finding security in your job, then talk to your manager or even seek out another position. When you do this, you can alleviate some of the pressure you are under and this can work wonders for your health.

The 12 Hour Days

Clocking overtime is not good for your health at all. Workplace stressors can increase employee
mortality rates and you may even find that it increases the amount of stress you are under as well. If you want to stop this then you need to make sure that you clock in and out at the same time every single day. When you get home, eat a good meal and then spend the rest of the night relaxing. When you do this, you can easily unwind, and this can help you to prevent the feeling of being constantly under pressure.

Your Computer Screen

If you work in an office, then there is a high chance that you will spend most of your time at a computer. Symptoms of being at the computer too much include neck pain, eye strain, headaches and dry eyes too. If you want to help yourself then don’t take meetings online and refrain from doing video calls. Instead, try and meet with the person face to face, and look away from your screen on a regular basis. If you are struggling with your eyesight, then it is always a good idea for you to look into ULTRA monthly contact lenses.

Sedentary Lifestyle

If you sit at your office desk for hours on end, then this can cause you to become overweight and you may even find that you experience muscle weakness and back pain too. If you want to try and combat this then consider taking a walk every hour, or stand up from your chair to correct your slouching posture.
