Planning a baby shower can take months. You want to make it perfect and memorable for the mommy-to-be. Yes, it can be a bit overwhelming when you start the process of planning a baby shower. You got to think about what kind of games you want played, what kind of food you want to serve your guests and maybe what kind of theme you want the baby shower to have. It can be exhausting!! I know, I’ve planned a few myself or at least helped planned one.
Here are some ideas to get you started for planning a baby shower:

5 Unforgettable Games:
1. Multi-Tasking Mommy. This baby shower game is hilarious and super fun to play but it does take some prep work upfront.
What you’ll need its:
- A clothesline – can use cord or rope. You’ll need to tie it somewhere or have 2 guests holding it up.
- A baby doll
- A small basket of clothes with 10 or more pieces of baby clothes
- Clothes pins
- 2 cell phones
The object of the game is have your guests be the multi-tasking mommy by giving her the baby doll as her baby, a cell phone and the basket of clothes to hang on the clothing line. She needs to hold the baby while hanging the clothes and talking on the phone with another guest. The guest shes talking to should try and distract her as much as possible with all kinds of silly or difficult questions. At the end of 2 minutes, write down the number of clothes she was able to hang up. If the baby or the phone drops they automatically loose the games. The person who hung the most pieces of clothing on the clothesline, and does the best job having a conversation and holding the baby wins the prize.
2. Baby Shower Memory Game. In my family we give this game a little twist. My grandfather would dress up as an old lady with all kinds of baby stuff pinned on him. He’ll walk around and engage with the guests. Then he finally sits next to the mommy-to-be or if the father is there then next to the father-to-be and have a silly conversation with them or make silly comments to get everyone laughing. He does this for about 2 mins then he leaves. We don’t tell our guests when he comes out. He just comes out and surprises everyone. This is makes it fun and unexpected. Once he leaves we then give everyone a piece of paper and pen and tell them to write down what they can remember. The person who can remember the most amount of items WINS the game!
3. Tinkle in the Pot. Oh this is such a fun game to play. For most expecting mama’s out there, there comes a time in the pregnancy where you need to run to the potty as fast as you can without peeing your pant!
What you’ll need is:
- Blown-up balloons or small pillows (about the same size as a blown-up balloon)
- Ping-pongs
- Mason Jars
The object of this game is to “Tinkle in the Pot” without peeing on the floor! Depending on how many guests you have, line up the mason jars (give them a good distance between them) at one end of the room. Have your guests line up at the other end of the room with their “pregnant bellies” (using the blown-up balloons or small pillows) and have them put the ping-pong between their knees and waddle across the room to the “potty” (mason jars). If the ping-pong falls before the guest gets to the potty, they’ll have to go back to the beginning and start over. The first one to “Tinkle in the Pot”wins.
4. Onesie Decorating. This isn’t a game per-say but it sure can get the creative juices flowing from your guests. It’s a great way to give baby a set of unique onesies and mommy-to-be will always have remember the day.
What you’ll need is:
- A few plain white onesies
- Thick Cardboard sheets (same amount of onesies)
- Tacks
- Fabric markers
The object of this game is to have each of your guests create a onesie for baby. When all the guests are done with their onesies lay them all out on a table and have them vote on which one is the most creative. The one with the most votes wins.
5. Hello, My Name Is…. This is a great game to play and gets everyone involved. And not to mention baby is already saving money even before they are born!
What you’ll need is:
- Name tags (one for each guests
- A marker
- A piggy bank
The object of this games is to have each guest put on a name take when they arrive. During the shower, people can only be called by their name on their name tag. If a guest calls someone by their first name, they have to put coins into the piggy bank for the baby.
