2020 is just around the corner and if you’ve spent the last year or decade putting things off, then now is the time to change. Here’s a list of 20 things you should stop putting off and start doing in 2020.

1. Learn Something New

Learning something new will mean a world of opportunities will open, and you’ll even realize how pleasurable it is. It’s never too late to start learning to code.

2. Break A Bad Habit

Whether it is eating junk food or smoking, there is at least one habit you need to stop. Do it now.

3. Face Your Fears

It could be spiders, snakes or heights, whatever it is that you have been putting off treating, this year is the year you treat your fear. It might not even be an obvious fear you have, but if you’ve been putting off going to the Doctors or Dentist, it’s time to face it and get there. If you’ve had a bad experience and you’re frightened of not only what you will find out but that you might end up needing a malpractice attorney as well, then you need to face this head-on. It’s better to know what you’re dealing with and get over your bad experience.

4. Try That Dish

Just try that food you’ve been avoiding for years, you never know you might actually like it.

5. Finish That Book

If you have a book, you never finished and sometimes, you still wonder how the story ends, open it up again and find out.

6. Be Okay On Your Own

If you’re someone who finds it difficult to be alone, it’s time to learn to live with yourself. You are the only person who will always be there for you.

If you take up a daily practice like Yoga now, imagine how flexible you will be in ten years, and for just a few minutes per day.

8. Plan Your Retirement

What will happen when you retire? Will you have enough money to live? Where will you live? There are so many questions you’ve probably put off answering, but now is the time to do it for your own sake, and for your family’s.

9. Celebrate your achievements

There must be many achievements you’re proud of, and that you never celebrated. Reward yourself by inviting the people that matter to you and throw the party you knew you should have had for a long time. Celebrate life!

10. Ask the older members of your family about their youth

The older members of your family or older friends have stories about events that shape the world we live in. Ask all the questions you can imagine while they’re still around.

11. Revisit your wardrobe

You’re not the person you were even two years ago, so have a look through your wardrobe and finally throw out that dress you’ve been hanging onto. You know you’re not going to wear it, so it’s time to let go.

12. Write letters

It takes time, and it’s slow, but writing letters it’s so much more precious than any other way of communicating, Letters let people know how much you care about them. Buy some stamps, some good stationery and a quality pen and write those new years wishes and thank-you letters.

13. Meet new interesting people

By meeting new and interesting people, you will make your life more interesting and remain open to new experiences.

14. Learn new words

Learning new words allows you to understand more concepts and to have more ideas, so get yourself an app, a calendar or even some toilet roll where you can learn a new word every day.

15. Reunite with old friends

Life can distance between best friends, so just pick up the phone and organize that reunion meeting.

16. Remember to say thank you

There are many people you should be grateful to. You could send them a letter, surprise them with a gift or just say “thank you”.It’s”

You can get by nearly anywhere in the world by speaking English. But if you learn a language, you learn a new way of thinking and reach a new level of understanding… and open yourself to so many new people you can talk to.

Apps, cloud, ergonomics and connectivity can make your life much more productive. You might want to make this investment you’ve been putting off for a while.

20. Do a random act of kindness

Do something good for somebody you don’t know. Help a stranger and expect nothing in return and just know that you’ve made somebody’s life better.
