There are aspects of health that we are more than happy to endure as we get older, as, to an extent, decline is apart of life. But the big problem we all have now is that if we consider specific ailments to be part of getting old, but yet we suffer from them at a young age, we can feel somewhat embarrassed to talk about them. But as there are so many afflictions out there that we all feel a sense of embarrassment towards, perhaps it is time to break this taboo? Do you suffer from any of the following?
Hearing Problems
Something that you might think is consigned to people beyond the age of 60, hearing problems are more common than you think. For those people that grew up listening to music through headphones all day, every day, hearing issues are more prevalent. As well as this, issues like tinnitus can begin earlier in life. But that’s not to say that you should feel embarrassed about it. You need to protect your ears if you haven’t already, but also, hearing aids aren’t those big, bulky devices of years gone by. In fact, you can learn more about the benefits of hearing aids and what sorts there are around. They are incredibly subtle, and if it’s a way for you to feel part of a conversation, rather than feeling that sense of isolation that comes with hearing loss, why should you feel embarrassed to talk about it?
Loss Of Libido
We are young; therefore we should enjoy fun and frolics in an intimate sense, right? Well, it’s not as widespread as you think. There are so many reasons we can feel a loss of libido, either due to depression or anxiety, or a symptom like Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD). It’s always worth talking to your doctor about it, especially if you feel that you want to enjoy it. But also, it’s not an essential component of life if you don’t want it to be. So many of us feel that, because we are young, that we need to be particularly active in this department, but don’t feel that it should be a mainstay of your life!
Too Much Stress
Everybody suffers from stress, but if you see people that feel unable to function, there can be a part of you that thinks that they are just complaining, especially if they do this via social media. But the fact is chronic stress isn’t just something that causes a little bit of anxiety; it affects so many parts of your life, can cause you headaches, anxiety, sleep problems, and even digestive problems. Speaking to your doctor to ensure that you are on the right course of action to get rid of this is crucial. You may need counseling, medication, or a course of therapy like CBT. Ultimately, a lot of stress is a killer, and you shouldn’t feel embarrassed to talk about it, especially if other people feel that they complain online so much!
